Either way, I enjoy learning new things and have learned much through reading this thread.Windows 1.0 was released in the fall of 1985. Due to the retro-compatibility of the x86 architecture, it can also be installed on a state-of-the-art system. The newest configuration I ran Windows 1.0 in real mode is a Ryzen 3900x , on a motherboard with X470 chipset, 32GB DDR4 3200 RAM and an RTX 2070 Super video card. It's been exciting to see that they may be special. I enjoy collecting vintage computer and video game artifacts and happened across these recently in my travels. There was no accompanying documentation and the only other disk was FastBack Plus 1.0 dated 1987. That leads me to believe that they probably belonged to a programmer. You'll also see that I mentioned that these came with a Microsoft C Compiler 4.0 set of 6 disks. I don't mind the skepticism, but if you look at my original posts you'll see that I mentioned that the original files may no longer be on these disks. Roughly, where about are you located? Perhaps someone locally can help set you up with something to read the disks. This does make me wonder if "premiere edition" was actually a single version or really more of a last minute rapid series of betas. They may have been replaced by a later version. I wouldn't get my hopes too far up about the content of the disks - notice how the labels are crossed out. In the mean time, at least post some additional pictures in different lighting, individual disks, front/back, etc. If you don't personally have one, it would be worth getting one. Please do post some higher resolution images from a proper scanner. How did you happen to acquire these disks? Do you know who previously owned them? Did they come with any other disks or material? As you can see from the earlier posts in this thread, there have been problems with authenticity. JustZisGuy you will have to forgive if there is some skepticism here.
